Your Role on the Team Position Summary: Reporting to the Food Services Manager and working within the kitchen and cafeteria, the Pr. Food Service Worker functions as a cashier with responsibility for correct handling of cash transactions and maintaining satisfactory customer relationship during an assigned shift. Ensures problem resolution to meet departmental standards (stocking, sanitation, customer service, etc.) Trains/orients new Pr. Food Service Workers. Processes priority meal service, delivers food to patients in a timely manner following established guidelines. Processes cafe payments, delivers caterings, cleans dishes in a timely manner following established guidelines. 25% Maintains cleanliness of dining room, work area, and assists with stocking of cafeteria and kitchen, cashiers when needed. Operates, assembles, disassembles, disinfects and cleans equipment and washes pots, pans, dishes and utensils. 5% Functions as a Lead directing and prioritizing daily work flows; ensures adequate staffing problem resolution. Trains/orients new staff. 10% Complies with all HACCP rules 5% Assists with timely delivery and set-up of catering events around the organization and cashiering for customers. 70% Appropriately performs some food preparation duties while effectively assembling food and beverages on tray line, ensuring smooth flow and correct portion control 10% What It Takes to be Successful Total Compensation We offer a wealth of benefits to make working at UCI even more rewarding. Must have a minimum 3 to 5 years prior skilled food preparation/service experience Must be able to meet bonding requirements for cashiering functions. Knowledge and practice of kitchen sanitary control techniques All final candidates will be required to successfully complete an FBI fingerprinting process to comply with the University’s cash handling policies.
