MILITARY VETERANS

The Facility Design Team is responsible for the architectural and structural design of new and rehabilitation of existing water conveyance, distribution, and treatment facilities, including hydraulic structures, pumping plants, water treatment plants, hydro¬electric power plants, reservoirs, and other related infrastructure.

As a Senior Architect, this position, acts as lead serving the architectural design discipline providing technical expertise within the Facility Design Team of the Engineering Services Group.

The successful candidate will provide technical expertise in project coordination as lead architect, technical report writing, oral presentation, site investigation, space planning and programming, design development, architectural inspections and observations, construction submittals review, and data research. The successful candidate will coordinate project teams within a multi-discipline team environment; plan and coordinate design schedule and budget; review the work of by other architects including consultants; monitor design progress and coordinate with other stakeholders.

Schedule: 9/80 Monday through Friday with every other Friday off

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:  Bachelor’s degree in architecture from an accredited college or university and eight years of increasingly responsible experience in the field of architecture, of which four years must have been as a licensed Architect with project management, supervisory, or lead position responsibilities. 

Relevant Experience is defined as: Experience in design and project management of multi-disciplinary design and construction projects involving industrial, commercial, laboratory, maintenance, and/or warehouse facilities. 

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s):

  • Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
  • Registration as a Licensed Architect in California
  • Certification by National Council of Architectural Registration Board
