Job Title: Document Scanning Specialist
Contract: Temporary
Location: Southfield, MI
Reports To: Client Services Supervisor/Manager
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and adaptable individual to join our team as a Document Scanning Specialist. You will be responsible for scanning and digitizing estate planning documents, ensuring each file is accurately processed. This includes performing quality checks on scanned files, naming and saving individual PDFs to the firm’s document management system, and maintaining accuracy and organization throughout the process. The role requires standing for extended periods while operating scanners and working independently to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
Schedule & Pay:
- Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Pay rate: $17/hr with a raise after 90 days depending on performance.
Responsibilities
- Scan and digitize estate planning documents.
- Perform quality checks on scanned files.
- Name and save individual PDFs to the firm’s document management system.
- Stand for extended periods while operating scanners.
- Work independently to complete assigned tasks.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 1+ year legal industry experience preferred.
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Office Suite) and scanning experience.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately.
- Technical aptitude with office equipment (printers, copiers, postage machines).
