Our client is seeking a talented military veteran electrician to help them keep up with high demand! Their fast-growing electrical power field engineering services company headquartered in Pasadena, California has an immediate opening for an Electrical Field Test Technician. Their broad range of services includes acceptance testing, commissioning and start-up, and maintenance testing. These services are provided on job sites for 600-volt class up to 15 KV electrical power systems.
Job summary:
Perform electrical power equipment field testing and visual inspections of 600-volt class up to 15KV electrical power systems. All projects are performed on job sites. Operate a broad range of portable electrical test equipment. Position requires limited supervision.
Duties and responsibilities:
– Perform electrical testing on medium voltage equipment such as substations, switchgears, medium voltage circuit breakers, instrument transformers, protective relays, ATS, motor control centers, dry type and liquid filled transformers and low voltage equipment such low voltage switchgears, low voltage circuit breakers, grounding systems, and more. In most cases, testing is performed per NETA standards.
– Troubleshoot and perform start-up services and have a good understanding of electrical power systems, and good aptitude for troubleshooting and problem evaluation.
– Write technical reports detailing field work performed on all equipment tested along with a report summarizing the test results. This comprehensive report will discuss results, observations and clearly itemize faulty equipment, if any.
– Assist, as requested, with job walks and proposals.
– Answer daily correspondences/emails from customers and/or team members.
– Manage and lead projects as needed. Ensure that the project is progressing and/or completed within hours and budget allowed.
$64.89 an hour (IBEW Union rate), minimal overtime, benefits and pension/retirement, take-home company vehicle and all tools and equipment.
