POSITION The LACCD is accepting applications for Adjunct Sign Graphics / Screen Printing Instructor positions at our colleges for the 2025 Academic School Year. The LACCD is seeking dynamic, motivated and diverse candidates for part-time faculty positions to engage and educate our students. Successful candidates will collaborate, communicate and work as professionals with students, staff, faculty and administrators. Final determination of part-time Interior Design Instructor assignments is contingent upon enrollment, funding and class availability. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree and two years of full-time professional experience, which must be directly related to the teaching assignment; OR Associate’s degree and six years of full-time professional experience, which must be directly related to the teaching assignment; A sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of district faculty, staff, and students. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT COVID 19 VACCINATION: Pursuant to LACCD Board of Trustee’s Policy 2900, all students and employees must be fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption. LACCD employees are required to provide their vaccination status in compliance with the LACCD Board of Trustees’ policy. Newly hired employees will be required to provide their vaccination status prior to starting a position or, at the latest, by their position start date. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Participation in professional and/or sign graphics/ screen printing -related organizations; Recent experience (five to seven years) in screen printing; Expertise in and sensitivity to the issues of underprepared students at the community college; Ability to collaborate with other faculty in a multidisciplinary Design and Media Arts Pathway. DUTIES Faculty members at LACCD are expected to facilitate student learning by designing varied and exciting learning environments. Evening and/or weekend classes may be scheduled based on department needs. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Teach Screen Printing courses in Sign Graphics over an academic year in accordance with established course outlines; Participate in the development and the assessment of student learning outcomes (SLO’s); Maintain scheduled office hours for student contact; Participate in professional development activities and maintain current knowledge in the academic field The candidate for Sign Graphics – Screen Printing instruction should be prepared to demonstrate the following proficiencies: Making silk screens, copy preparation, mesh selection, frames, stencil systems, printing techniques, ink & substrate compatibility, reclamation of screens Printing on a variety of surfaces Using computer applications to spot color, trapping, 4 color process and simulated color separations COMPENSATION The salary schedule for adjunct instructors begins at $85.09 per standard hour, plus an office hour differential o $19.91 per hour for classroom assignments. Applicants with a doctoral degree are eligible for a doctoral differential.
