Your Role on the Team Position Summary: The Women and Children Services Program coordinator coordinates UCI Health’s clinical Women and Children’s programs and oversees the Maternal Fetal Transport program. The coordinator is responsible for developing clinical pathways, emergency algorithms, and TJC indicators for Women and Children Services. Will facilitate service line growth initiatives and further Women and Children Service program development. The coordinator is functionally responsible for leading clinical program designation efforts, QA/QI projects, and facilitating compliance and variance tracking for reportable program quality measures and research efforts. Collaborates and builds relationships with community partners to promote W&C programs. Will facilitate community education programs, including awareness and community education events. As the program manager for Maternal Fetal Transport, the coordinator is functionally responsible for quality metric tracking and education on maternal fetal and neonatal outreach, remaining current as a clinical expert on providing high-quality maternal fetal transport patient care. Engages with leadership and nursing education to advance nursing knowledge, skill, and competency. Provides on-call response to maternal child transport. Will serve as a role model who demonstrates expert professional nursing practice, customer service, and leadership ability, and works on a collegial basis with the service line director, medical director, business development and marketing, CNS’s, Educators, and Nurse Managers at the Medical Center, Acts as an active participant on nursing and medical center committees. Required Qualifications: Thorough knowledge of The Joint Commission and other regulatory requirements present in an acute care setting Strong written, oral communication, as well as effective problem solving and negotiation skills Specialty certification in Perinatal Services Minimum of three years recent acute care perinatal nursing experience in a High-Risk Perinatal Center with Maternal Fetal transport experience. Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills Demonstrated teaching/education/in-service skills with the ability to lead effectively Demonstrated experience with healthcare project leadership. Computer skill and experience using MSOffice products, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and information systems in general, with the ability to manage and produce charts, tables, and graphs Ability to work independently and apply sound judgment in all situations Preferred Qualifications: Thorough knowledge TJC Disease-Specific (Neonatal/ Perinatal), Baby Friendly, Beacon designations and other regulatory requirements Recent Experience with Program Development Recent Experience in Program Management Familiarity with all phases of Performance Improvement Doctorate in Nursing Certification in Health Care Quality Improvement Licenses and Certifications: RN PQFFMC NRP BLS ACLS Conditions of Employment: The University of California, Irvine (UCI) seeks to provide a safe and healthy environment for the entire UCI community.
