It has research, clinical and teaching relationships with the VA Long Beach Healthcare System and Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. Your Role on the Team Incumbent provides administrative and organizational support to the Clincal Affairs Operations Director and department. Coordinates meeting management and calendars. Gathers data and prepares reports. Performs general office responsibilities of supply and equipment inventory, facilities, and purchase order process. Serves as a resource to staff and management of all levels on matters related to divisional operations and activities. Work involves the handling of confidential information. What It Takes to be Successful Required: Demonstrated experience and good working knowledge of MS Office Word, Outlook & Excel. Exceptional computer skills, including data entry, retrieval, and data manipulation Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, active listening, critical thinking, multi-tasking and time management skills. Skill in managing sensitive and confidential information. Ability to function independently with minimal supervision Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize daily responsibilities. Ability to appropriately deal with stressful situations and individuals while remaining calm and professional. High school diploma or equivalent experience Minimum 2 years’ experience providing administrative support to a manager or director level position. Previous work experience providing administrative support in an academic or healthcare organization preferred. Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree Special Conditions: May be required to work occasional evenings and weekends.
