The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) and Childrens Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in the Department of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Nephrology, are actively seeking a full time faculty member (1.0 FTE) for the position of Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Clinician Educator). Requirements for the positions include a medical license in California and certification or active candidate status in the Sub-Board of Pediatric Nephrology. The Nephrology Division serves a 370-bed tertiary care childrens hospital with all surgical and medical disciplines active. We are seeking to expand the number of faculty to meet our increasing clinical needs. The Division cares for an average of 55-60 chronic dialysis patients (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis), 120 post-transplant patients, 100 patients identified with chronic renal insufficiency and is a major referral center (over 1000 new patient per year), in the greater Los Angeles area. Twenty-five to thirty renal transplants are done each year. The candidate will participate in resident, medical student, fellow teaching and ongoing clinical research projects. Basic and clinical research opportunities are available within the Division and Hospital (to qualified candidates). Up to 25% protected time for clinical or basic research can be negotiated for individuals interested in a clinical investigator career. The professional development of its faculty is a priority of the Division. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The annual base salary range for this position is $95,904-$325,712.
