The USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Southern California (USC Norris) was founded in 1971 and has been continuously funded as an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center since 1973. USC Norris has a rich tradition of collaborative research and serves as a major regional and national resource for cancer research, prevention, treatment and education. The Healthcare Navigator Supervisor at the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Prevention at USC Norris is a critical member of the Centers administrative team. Reporting to the Director of the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Prevention, the Healthcare Navigator Supervisor is responsible for managing the delivery of healthcare navigation to address patients social determinants/drivers of health needs in Los Angeles County, including oversight of team performance; training and supporting a team of healthcare navigators and other clinical team members through integrated approaches to navigation; and assessing and addressing workflow issues. The Supervisor will work cross-departmentally and with community clinics and partners to develop Social Determinants of Health outreach, screening, and care navigation programs to further the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Prevention mission. The Supervisor will serve as the administrative point person for the Multidisciplinary Navigation Forum and will organize meetings, create agendas, and track action items and metrics. In addition, the Supervisor will be responsible for a caseload of patients, helping them and their families set goals; assess barriers; and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans by connecting them with external resources and agencies. As a patient advocate, the Supervisor will help make appointments, actively facilitate communication with external agencies, and will follow up to close cases. The Supervisor will also act as the escalation point for the navigation team for particularly complex or difficult cases. Preferred candidates will have working knowledge and established connections with community clinics and organizations in Los Angeles County, extensive experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and clinical teams, and deep understanding of the cancer care continuum. The annual base salary range for this position is $81,471 to $108,876.
