Description: The Department of Physical Therapy at Azusa Pacific University invites applications for a faculty position in our in-person Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Qualified applicants may also teach in the PhD in Rehabilitation and Movement Science program. The department has state of the art biomechanics and pain science lab equipment for faculty research. We are seeking candidates with a strong background in teaching and scholarship with preference for those with experience in one or more of the following areas: cardiopulmonary, acute, or geriatric care. We will also consider candidates with a background in limb loss, or medical ethics. Applicants can learn more about the Physical Therapy department by exploring this link: https://www.apu.edu/bas/physicaltherapy/programs/ Responsibilities: Teach, design curricula, and carry out research in their area of expertise Service to the university and the profession Coordinate and organize classroom support staff and student teaching assistants Regular, punctual attendance as required by the supervisor based on department needs Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor Qualifications: A physical therapist with an earned terminal academic doctorate (Ph.D. EdD, DHSc, etc.) is preferred. Candidates without an earned post-professional degree must have an established plan of study for obtaining such a degree. Applicants must be eligible for PT licensure in California (license obtained within 90 days of employment), have a defined research agenda, record of publications, and a strong Christian commitment. Experience: Prior academic or clinical teaching experience and specialization are valued assets in addition to an earned post-professional academic degree. Three to five years of teaching experience in an entry-level DPT program preferred. Three to five years of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist in area of specialty preferred. Workload: Full Time Hire Date: Open until filled. Mental Demands: Ability to integrate Christian values in all aspects. Ability to engage in critical thinking and exercise independent judgment. Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage confidential information. Ability to collaborate with other faculty and staff and maintain collegial relations. Self starter, ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form. Compensation: $66,560 to $125,460 i s the annual salary for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, APU offers a competitive benefits package .
