Project Accounting Opening in Redondo Beach!
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (occasional OT)
Pay Rate: $28-$38 hour (DOE)
Seeking an Accounting Specialist with AP and AR experience for a construction related project.
Company/Position description: Real Estate focused organization and family office seeks organized, energetic self-starter to join our accounting team.
Successful candidate will manage the Project Accounting for a multi-million-dollar (8 figure), beachfront residential construction project. Casual and friendly office environment within walking distance to the beach. Primary areas of responsibility include Initial Project Set Up, Project Recordkeeping, Project Reporting, Subcontract Administration, Purchase Order Administration, Accounts Payable/Cash Disbursements, and Billing. Great opportunity for an experienced Project Accountant with strong QuickBooks skills.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Initial Project Set Up
• Set up Project in QuickBooks including Customer, Job, GL Accounts, Cost Codes, and Sub-Contracts, Budgets/Estimates
• Set up paper filing system for subcontracts, purchase orders, etc.
Job/Project Cost Accounting
• Track Subcontracts including change orders, and billings/payments against Subcontracts
• Generate Purchase Orders and track billings/payments against Purchase Orders
• Track Payroll and related costs and charge to appropriate cost codes
• Generate periodic progress billings to Customer
Accounts Payable-Non project related
• Enter invoices in QuickBooks for all entities verifying proper amounts, entity, and account coding
• Prepare checks and backup for review/signature ensuring completeness and accuracy
• Scan all signed checks and mail
• Maintain spreadsheet tracking all outgoing checks
Accounts Receivables
• Generate and email/mail monthly Rent & Electricity invoices
• Receive and enter payments for all sites & residential properties in QuickBooks
• Calculate electric consumption of all office units
• Process credit cards for monthly office & residential rental payments
• Follow up with tenants on open invoices
Other Accounting
• Prepare all bank reconciliations for group bank accounts
• Prepare all bank deposits and make deposits at various banks
• Monitor bank accounts and propose checks to cover low balances/overdrafts
• Tracks all State & Federal tax filings and payments
• Maintain accuracy of entries in QuickBooks
• Maintain filing of all documents and files in corporate office
• Run financial reports for monthly Financial Presentation
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
• BS, BA, or AA in Accounting
• Recent experience in a Project Accountant role with a general contractor or real estate development company
• Experience with Preliminary Notices, Lien Releases, and Certificates of Insurance in a construction environment
• Strong QuickBooks and Excel skills required; Procore and Textura a plus
• Local candidates only; Los Angeles South Bay area candidates highly preferred.
