MILITARY VETERANS
The Voice Technician installs and maintains the Voice Systems. This individual will support and maintain a multi-platform voice telephony system, ensuring its efficiency and security. The role will troubleshoot problems reported by users and/or by automated monitoring systems, provide assistance related to installations. This position will also perform moves, adds and changes, based on customer requests. This position will program, install, move, modify voice and related equipment according to job order specifications, company standards and procedures. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions such as dial tone trouble, inoperable phones, voicemail. Will need to be on the on-call rotation. Essential Duties: Provides technical and troubleshooting assistance to USC Health end users, as required Perform the repair, maintenance of voice and voice over IP equipment for USC Health. Communicate and escalate systems service issues to management in order to resolve quickly and efficiently Adhere to USC Health ITs processes and practices Assists in maintaining records or parts inventory for spare equipment Trains users on voice systems operation and provides technical resource support, as needed. Recommends changes to improve systems configurations and determines hardware and software requirements, related to those changes. Attends vendor training workshops to gain proficiency in voice equipment servicing and stays informed of new developments and technologies Ability to perform on-call duties. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Req High school or equivalent Req 3 years Job specific experience. Req 5 years Telecommunications installation/maintenance experience. Req Background in LAN/WAN Technologies. TCP/IP/QoS/PoE/VLANs/VoIP. Req Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems. Req Ability to troubleshoot network and VoIP related issues. Req Excellent communication skills both verbal and writing. Req Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends as needed. Preferred Qualifications: Pref Associate’s degree Pref Relevant vendor specific (Cisco, Avaya, Nortel, Siemens) systems certification Required Licenses/Certifications: Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only) The hourly rate range for this position is $33.00 – $54.02.
