Department Summary The Health Economics and Evaluation Research (HEER) Program is housed at the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research. The HEER team examines the impact of federal programs, statewide demonstrations, local initiatives, environmental disasters, and state and legislative policies. The HEER program has examined the impact of policies and programs on health insurance coverage, how health care is delivered, whether population health has been impacted, and whether cost savings are achieved. Position Summary The UCLA Center for Health Policy Research is a pioneering institution dedicated to democratizing health data and advancing health equity. Through initiatives like the California Health Interview Survey (CHIS) and the Health Economics and Evaluation Research (HEER) Program, we provide accessible data to policymakers, advocates, and the public. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications Experience acquiring, extracting and utilizing data from different data sources. (Required) Demonstrated experience analyzing information, problems, situations, practices or procedures to define the problem or objective. (Required) Demonstrated project experience including identifying concerns and formulating solutions. (Required) Experience in programming in SAS Macro, R function and Stata to automate common tasks. (Required) Experience optimizing the data processing steps to provide timely results. (Required) Experience utilizing Windows PowerShell or scripting language. (Required) Experience with SAS, Stata, and R for data access, data retrieval, data management, data analysis, data presentation and modeling. (Required) Experience working independently with minimal supervision on multiple projects simultaneously. (Required) Demonstrated report completion involving developing report objectives, providing steps for data processing and data analysis. (Required) Experience presenting the written reports as a business presentation. (Required) Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal communication to interact with Principal Investigators, researchers, administrative staff and external audiences. (Required) Experience with Microsoft Office software including: Word, Excel and PowerPoint. (Required) Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations Master’s Degree in Public health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience (Required) Any suitable equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted (Required) Special Conditions for Employment Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
