Job Description Are you ready to be a part of breakthrough research? Principal Investigator, Joshua Sasine, MD, PhD is looking for a Postdoctoral Scientist to join the team! The Sasine Laboratory focuses on two main areas: The communication between the bone marrow microenvironment and multiple myeloma, a cancer of antibody-secreting plasma cells. Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy for pancreatic cancer and multiple myeloma The Sasine lab has characterized paracrine factors that govern the biology of hematopoietic stem cells and hematopoietic cancers. Now, we are applying our expertise in this area to create biotechnology to intervene on these processes. To learn more about this important work, please visit the Sasine Laboratory website . We are actively seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist/Research Fellow who will work independently but in close cooperation and in consultation with the Principal Investigator and Research Associates. In this role, the candidate will perform routine and intricate laboratory procedures throughout the training period as they develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols. The incumbent will analyze and summarize data and may assist in preparation of grant proposals. The candidate will participate in publications and presentations as the first author or co-author. This position is not responsible for generating grant funds. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities: Designs and performs laboratory experiments. Maintains appropriate experimental records and documentation and analyzes the results with the Principal Investigator. Analyze, interpret, summarize, and compile data. Operate and maintain equipment and instruments. Orders reagents and maintains records of orders. Assists with animal husbandry. Performs lab maintenance duties. Observes and follows safety standards and procedures. Qualifications Education: Doctorate (MD, PhD, VMD, or DDS) in an area related to biological sciences. Experience and Skills: Worked independently on research projects designed by a mentor (typically the PI) within biological sciences. Acquired technical and theoretical knowledge of biological research and objectives. Demonstrated ability to perform experimental protocols and procedures, including detailed data collection, analysis, and operation. Knowledge of safety standards and maintenance of specialized equipment.
