About The Position
Electrical Engineer V Mil-Aero
EE-V candidate will be a recognized expert within the company, who architects, designs, researches and develops highly advanced Single Board Computers (SBCs), Digital Signal Processing Cards, and other card level products for Mil-Aero and space applications, which may result in new product/business opportunities for the company.
Candidate will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across sites on EE projects with full design cycle, recommends strategic EE technical paths for business expansion across company; defines industry best practices for company, mentorship-who applies extensive technical expertise to design problems and is able to provide innovative solutions.
Responsibilities
Complexity of Task Assignment – Works on multiple major projects of the highest complexity requiring cutting-edge, innovative solutions. Design of complex card level products and provide technical inputs for complex systems designs. Very strong understanding of development programs with experience across entire development lifecycle from concept to production. Occasional technical consultant across multiple sites.
· Planning – Long range technical planning on multiple major projects.
· Scope/lmpact – Results have a critical impact on the objectives and goals of the program.
· Lead/Oversight Responsibilities – Lead or strong influence over group of engineers and technicians.
· Supervision – Self-supervising within guidance and expectations of site management.
· Guidance – Provides guidance to several groups of the organization. Influences functional area strategic goals.
· Initiative – Exercises independent initiative/judgement in setting and implementing goals.
· Technical Writing – Highly skilled at writing any technical document
· Design complex card level products though the full design cycle including conceptual design, components selection, design trades, schematic capture, analyses support, PCB layout rules and PCB design support, verification support.
· Lead junior engineers when required
· Drive process improvements mentorship and EE review boards.
· Lead peer reviews for technical development.
Technical Experience
· SME or a technical expert in EE field
· Minimum 15+ years of SBCs / Digital Design experience with mil-aero programs. Space programs a plus.
· High speed interfaces design experience (PCIe Gen 3, DDR3/4, 10GbE, etc.)
· Experience with standard bus architectures such as VPX, VME, cPCI
· Consistently demonstrates extremely high levels of technical knowledge, ingenuity and creativity within industry.
· Craft effective strategic technical path (technology development roadmap) to capture new adjacent business.
· Very Proficient in development tools for design capture, simulation, and debug. In particular experience with OrCAD Schematic Capture
Communication/interpersonal Skills
· Effectively mentor people outside his/her work group. Effectively communicate with the customer budgets, schedules, technical issues, and resolution plans.
· Give effective presentations to critical/high level customers and effectively represent work group on review panels and cross-organizational teams.
· Resolve divergent technical opinions within team and customer in influencing them.
· Resolve difficult technical issues.
Education
· Bachelor’s of Science + 10-14 years, Master’s of Science + 8-12 years, or PhD + 5-9 years
