Department Overview

Motorola’s Access Control Division’s mission is to improve your workday with smart office technology at your front door. We are looking for candidates who can help us build, scale and innovate as we develop our industry leading platform for access control and office automation. Strong analytical and software skills are a must in order to join our team, and we are particularly seeking candidates with experience and skills in multiple technologies, in order to contribute broadly to our team-centric approach to product development.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Design, define, and develop fabrication/assembly/integration/test processes for electrical products used in high reliability applications

  • Design test equipment and test setups that are flexible and evolve with our ever evolving scope

  • Own hardware automation and testing tools, including production line test harnesses and product reliability test systems

  • Design assembly and fabrication tooling. Own these from concept through implementation

  • Develop work instructions and documentation for build and test processes

  • Outstanding communication and documentation skills

  • Work with manufacturing, R&D, and testing teams

  • Understanding of how turn customer issues into testing activities and improved design requirements

  • Proficiency with CAD modeling software (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, OnShape)

  • Create and manage the firmware and hardware development pipeline

  • Work with our OTA based products in high reliability applications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM field (Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Science) 

  • 5+ years experience working in a hardware product based sector

  • Experience working in C and Python

This position is based in Culver City, CA and the candidate must reside in the Greater Los Angeles Area as you will be required to into the office on a hybrid work schedule.

The base salary range for this position in California is $130,000 – $150,000 depending on background and experience.
