Position Summary The Manager, Membership and Annual Giving is responsible for raising unrestricted funds for the annual operating budget through the membership and annual fund programs. Hammer Membership levels range from $100 through $5,000. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Manager, Membership and Annual Giving is responsible for conceptualizing and implementing membership and annual giving campaigns. The Manager, Membership and Annual Giving will utilize data-driven strategies to identify new member prospects and develop strategies for acquisition, renewal, and upgrades to reach target departmental goals. Also, under his/her guidance is the planning and execution of membership events. In collaboration with Events team, this role manages the annual Hammer KAMP fundraising event. This exempt position supervises one full-time staff and oversees students, interns, and/or consultants as needed. This position is responsible to raise $1,000,000 per year. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications 5+ years Experience in an art Museum, arts related organization, or philanthropic organization (Required) 2+ years Experience in a membership program with at least 4,000 members preferably in an arts organization. (Required) Working knowledge of some aspects of art history, museums, art galleries, or related humanities field. (Required) Excellent communication skills to interact effectively and diplomatically with members and donors from diverse social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds. (Required) Ability to write persuasively in order to motivate prospective members, renewing members, and potential donors to assist with the financial support of the Museum’s general operating fund. (Required) Skill in interacting diplomatically with the public in a high-volume, continuous- public contact setting. Ability to negotiate and exchanging ideas, information, and opinions with others to formulate policies and programs and/or to arrive jointly at decisions, conclusions or solutions. (Required) Skill in managing staff and and volunteer committees, including organizing workflow to accomplish objectives, delegating responsibilities, and training. (Required) Ability to handle and maintain sensitive information with discretion and tact. (Required) Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Adobe Photoshop; working knowledge of donor tracking systems and Raiser?s Edge fundraising software preferred (Required) Ability to prioritize tasks, predict problem areas, and develop efficient systems for resolution; skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction; ability to work under pressure with frequently changing priorities. (Required) Experience and skill in direct marketing approaches, including working knowledge of principles of graphic design and print production to convey information needed to produce various printed materials (e.g. newsletters, brochures, invitations, and direct mail membership acquisition campaigns).
