Purpose: We are looking for a diligent staff accountant to join our accounting department, that is an entry or mid-level accounting professional who will be responsible for maintaining financial records of the business, usually as part of a team. The duties include confirming compliance with IRS rules, reconciling bank statements and balance sheet accounts, preparing monthly journal entries, assisting with budget and close processes, conducting internal audits, maintaining accounts and payable documentation. You will also be assisting the controller as needed and responding to information requests by management and for auditing purposes.
Position Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivables
Prepare monthly journal entries
Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue
· Prepare documentation for external auditors
· Perform and management inventory functions
· Prepare and file Sales & Use tax returns
Organize and update financial records
Perform monthly bank settlements
Support the Payroll functions
Support the Accounts Payable functions
Required Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
At least two years’ experience in accounting or a related field
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Proficient with NetSuite by Oracle
Proficient with Paycom
Competencies:
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to read and analyze financial reports
Professional experience working with confidential and sensitive information
Ability to prioritize daily tasks and meet timely obligations with many clients
Knowledge of accounting processes and advanced mathematical skills
Skilled using various accounting software and experience in troubleshooting common accounting program problems
Personal integrity when working with personal and sensitive financial information
Professional experience in financial forecasting and risk analysis
Working Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Typical office environment, mostly indoor office environment with windows, offices with equipment noise, offices with frequent interruptions. The department atmosphere is quiet, friendly and collaborative but hardworking.
In performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to: talk and listen, sit, stand and walk throughout the workday, use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms.
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
