Special Instructions to Applicants A resume, cover letter and completed aplication are required to be considered for this position. **Please note, this is a HYBRID role.** Position Summary As the Associate Director, Leadership Giving Student Affairs, you will have the ability to build strong campus partnerships with some of the best Student Affairs professionals in the nation, and connect with donors and prospects who are passionate about making a difference. Both our development team and our academic partners are very mission driven in providing support to UCLA Student Affairs, a network of more than 25 programs, services, and experiences that connect with the life of every student during their collegiate career. We strive to ensure students have the programs and resources to meet their personal and academic needs. As part of the Scholarships & Student Support Initiatives team, this role helps drive the overall case for support for UCLA undergraduate students, assessing data, student success stories, national trends in the needs and innovative programs to offer students, etc. As one of UCLA’s key objectives in our next fundraising campaign, there is immense opportunity to innovate and elevate student support throughout the UCLA community. As our Associate Director, Leadership Giving, you will have an opportunity to have a meaningful impact on the educational experience for undergraduate students, with a special focus on programs that support students from a variety of backgrounds, mental health support, experiential learning through the career center, and club recreational sports.You will also have vast growth potential through getting frontline fundraising experience focused on leadership level giving and building out or mid-level donor pipeline. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications Minimum of two years of demonstrated annual giving or fundraising experience and/or prior experience in a related field such as sales, marketing or business development. (Required) Experience conceptualizing, planning and implementing special events. (Required) Experience with Blackbaud CRM or equivalent development database and the use of databases to generate reports. (Preferred) Working knowledge of principles and practices of fundraising in a major research university or institution of equivalent complexity including annual giving techniques. (Required) Ability to conceptualize and implement broad ranging and specific individual identification, cultivation and solicitation strategies. (Required) Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to write and edit reports, business correspondence, proposals and other cultivation and solicitation materials; ability to prepare clear and compelling materials for fundraising events, initiatives and programs. (Required) Excellent oral communication skills to collect and convey information with accuracy, diplomacy and tact; ability to persuasively express the mission of the university and the fundraising goals of the campus, especially as they relate to UCLA Student Affairs. (Required) Detail oriented with ability to take initiative, work independently and accept responsibility; adept at setting priorities and managing work flow to fulfill objectives and meet goals accordingly to deadlines in a dynamic and ever-changing environment. (Required) Ability to work effectively as part of a team with well-developed interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with colleagues and build and sustain lasting relationships with a wide variety of internal and external constituents. (Required) Proficiency with Microsoft suite of applications as well as familiarity with other database, spreadsheet, scheduling and email applications; willingness to learn new programs and applications in a prompt and efficient manner. (Required) Knowledge of data management and manipulation sufficient to retrieve data and isolate specific market segments. (Required) Ability to maintain confidentiality of donor files and other information; impeccable integrity and discretion in dealing with donors, alumni, students, administrators and colleagues. (Required) Strong ability to recruit, orient, train, organize, motivate and evaluate staff and volunteers who support development goals and programs.
