Description The School of Nursing invites applications for a full-time associate dean and faculty position. Willingness to engage in the recruitment of faculty and students. Active engagement in Curriculum and Program development. Desire and ability to maintain an active research program and scholarly activities. Enthusiastic mentoring of faculty. Participate in faculty and program governance. Ability to manage budgets. Generate creative ways of teaching and supporting learners. Specialization Clinical Specialization in Advanced Practice, Board Certified. Responsibilities Integrates a Christian worldview into the disciplines of nursing and teaching. The Associate Dean of Nursing reports directly to the Dean and will be primarily responsible for providing support for graduate programs and fostering expanded opportunities for faculty scholarship and research. Collaborate with the Dean, other Associate Deans, Department Chairs, and other university officials to develop, implement, and oversee graduate programs and provide creative leadership for growth and innovation in faculty scholarship and research. Support faculty in securing external funding for scholarship and research activities and will promote collaborative internal and external partnerships. Work closely with other university officials to facilitate the successful preparation and submission of curriculum and accreditation. Work closely with the Dean, other Associate Deans, Department Chairs, and graduate Program Directors on matters related to program assessment, faculty and student recruitment and development, and program marketing and/or promotion. Provide leadership for the academic programs, program evaluation and accreditation activities, and student recruitment and retention. This position is responsible for the preparation and administration of the department budgets and for making appropriate recommendations to the Dean regarding personnel needs. May be needed to work at alternative Regional Campuses or Sites. Level Professor or Associate Professor. Qualifications Evidence of a vibrant Christian faith. Terminal degree required. Proven ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, and the community both within and across disciplines. Demonstrated administrative, analytical, and leadership skills. Experience with resource management including human resources and finances. Ability to encourage student-centered research, scholarship, and innovative projects. Represent the School of Nursing at university, department, and community meetings. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to adjust to dynamic circumstances on an as-needed basis. Ability to maintain an active research agenda. Experience A minimum of five years of teaching experience in higher education and demonstrated success in administrative work. Evidence of leadership accomplishments such as developing, launching, and/or leading successful academic programs. Preferred: Experience in a Christian university setting demonstrating ability to integrate Christian values in all aspects. Workload: Full-time Hire Date: Open until filled. Compensation $68,640 to $125,460 is the annual salary for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, APU offers a competitive benefits package.
