Position Summary Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI) in the School of Dentistry, the Laboratory Assistant will join a lab that focuses on craniofacial development and stem cell-based tissue renewal. The Laboratory Assistant will be working on a project studying how signaling regulation and tissue mechanical forces control stem cell behavior in craniofacial structures, assisting PI in performing a variety of experiments, including mouse sample collection, sectioning, immunohistochemistry, cell culture, biomechanical studies, genetic studies, and microscopy. The Laboratory Assistant will also help in maintaining a mouse colony (~20% time) and providing general lab support, such as making common solutions. This is a great opportunity for any motivated and aspiring candidate to learn both basic and advanced lab techniques and become trained in studying tissue morphogenesis and regeneration. Qualifications Prior experiences in in vitro and in vivo experiments at an investigator site or academic medical center is highly preferred. (Preferred) Basic understanding of genetics and molecular biology. (Required) Willingness to work with mice and mouse samples. (Required) Excellent organization skill and attention to detail. (Required) Excellent time and task management skills. (Required) Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) in English. (Required) Excellent interpersonal skills.
