Postdoctoral Scholar in General Internal Medicine – Wisk Lab 2024-2025 University of California Los Angeles Requisition Number: JPF10254 The Division of General Internal Medicine and Health Services Research in the Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA invites applications for a postdoctoral position. Under the mentorship and supervision of Dr. Lauren E. Wisk, the individual will conduct the statistical data analyses for the aims of a federally-funded grant investigating the role of state and federal mental health parity laws on health care utilization for adolescents and young adults, and co-leads the dissemination of study findings. This individual will work mostly independently under general supervision, in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and will need to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a quantitative field (e.g., biostatistics, epidemiology, economics, health policy, health services research) is required. This individual must understand and ensure compliance with UCLA, state, and federal regulations. Duties and tasks will include: Perform literature reviews, such as the effect of mental health parity laws on health care utilization Compile a database cataloging state mental health parity laws and specific provisions as pertinent to youth and young adults Conduct data management of a large survey and administrative database encompassing over 10,000 respondents Perform descriptive and multivariate analyses of large databases, including regression and interrupted time series analyses, with knowledge of application of survey weights Present work at national scientific meetings in the form of poster or oral presentations Under the supervision of the PI and in collaboration with the larger research team, co-author manuscripts for submission to peer reviewed academic journals Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a quantitative field (e.g., biostatistics, epidemiology, economics, health policy, health services research) Knowledge of state and federal laws and legal requirements. Experience/interest in mental health policy and quasi-experimental study designs.
