Admission Counselor, Weekend, Evening and Online College (UPDATED) The Admission Counselor is to perform duties designed to identify and recruit prospective students to the Weekend, Evening and Online programs. The Admission Counselor plans and participates in the implementation of marketing strategies and outreach/recruitment activities designed to encourage prospective student interest. Guides applicants through the admission and financial aid process, assisting the students through the enrollment process. Work Location: Doheny Campus (Downtown Los Angeles) Start Date: Immediately Applications Deadline: Open until filled Position Hourly Rate Range: $23.42-$24.75 Hiring salary can be above the posted pay range if candidate’s qualifications are determined to be above the minimum requirements of the position description. Duties and Responsibilities: Engages prospective students via phone, email, and text on a continual basis to build relationships between the student and the University. Maintain active correspondence with prospective student until the student is enrolled or no longer interested in applying. Plans, manages and leads Information Sessions both in person and online for prospective students. Visits local community college transfer centers to meet with prospective students and Transfer Center Directors to inform them of the University programs. Assists applicants through each step of the admission process as well as the enrollment process. Conducts external recruitment and outreach events at local businesses and community events. Responsible for meeting application and enrollment goals. Participates in and support other admission offices within the Enrollment Division. Other Duties and Responsibilities: Organizes plan and execute programs/events designed to support the WEOC recruitment efforts. Supports the other offices within the Enrollment Division as needed. Participates in professional organizations, conferences and other professional growth and training opportunities. Job Requirements: Knowledge: Working knowledge of the structure of adult undergraduate education in general; analysis of unofficial transcripts Enrollment management and data systems knowledge/experience a plus (Slate). Understanding of financial aid policies and procedures helpful. Abilities and Skills: Willing and able to work weekends and evenings when needed. Effectively manage multiple projects and follow through to completion. Comfortably speak to groups and individuals from many different backgrounds and quickly build rapport. Work well alone and in a team. High energy level. Patience and flexibility. Creative problem solver. Analytical and able to make sound judgments/decisions. Must enjoy having a lot of contact with a variety of people. Must provide own automobile and have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance. Excellent organization and prioritization, customer service, oral/written communication, interpersonal, public relations and presentation skills. Education: Minimum of completed baccalaureate degree required, ideally from a small private liberal arts institution. Participation in national and/or regional adult higher education conferences/organizations helpful. Experience: Preference given to candidates with prior experience working in admission and recruitment areas ideally with adult populations. 1-2 years preferred.
