Position Summary Reporting to the Lowell Milken Center for Music of Jewish American Experience Center Manager, the Lowell Milken Center for Music of Jewish American Experience Center Events Coordinator facilitates concerts, lectures, master classes and other public events. Primary responsibilities include coordinating pre-production logistics for Center events, from event inception (working with theater staff and faculty on production estimates and logistics) through the budget approval process with the Center Manager; process necessary reimbursements and payments for Center activities throughout the year, including but not limited to conferences, events, concerts, recitals, guest artists, etc.; gathering approved event information for publication across events calendars and for select concert programs. For select events: setting up ticket sales processes, reception planning, setting up chairs and stands on stage, handling guest artist relations, assisting with planning guest travel and accommodations. Other duties to support the center as assigned by the Center Manager. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications Skill in working autonomously with minimal supervision. (Required) Skill in organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating a variety of tasks under conflicting demands and simultaneous deadlines. (Required) Demonstrated knowledge of English grammar, punctuation and usage. Skill in editing for content, consistency, and style. Ability to compose well-written original letters, e-mails, and brief program notes without assistance. (Required) Knowledge of events production process and art terms pertaining to event production. (Preferred) Knowledge of basic accounting skills. (Required) Ability to be highly responsible, with careful attention to detail (detail oriented) and ability to initiate changes and develop procedures for efficient operation of office. (Required) Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively and cooperatively with university faculty, staff, students, and people from many diverse cultures. (Required) Knowledge of and interest in music and experience producing concerts, recitals, and other events. (Preferred) Availability during some evenings and weekend hours with a flexible work style. (Required) Familiarity with University systems such as UCLA’s Purchasing and Accounts Payable System (Bruin Buy), Travel System (Concur) or ability to learn. (Preferred) Ability to maintain confidentiality of information. (Required) Possess a valid CA driver’s license in good standing with access to a car for local travel and the ability to travel in Southern California.
