The opportunity:
The Operations Learning & Development Manager will partner with the Division, Operations, Learning and Development COE team to implement training systems, standards, and tools across the full site. The role is responsible for ensuring site specific training systems are managed annually and improved regularly. The systems and processes that must be put in place are Operator and Craft on the job certification, trainer development, skill gap identification processes, training planning and management, site orientation, role specific on boarding, learning solution/training document management and training tracking, measurement, and evaluation via our Learning Management System. This role will be heavily focused on implementation of the Learning & Training System and the learner experience at their assigned locations.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:
- Responsible to implement, manage and improve site training processes.
- Responsible to partner with local operations team to build out and implement on the job training for critical roles
- Responsible to support content/learning solution creation with SME’s
- Site tier 3 administrator for the Learning Management System – Able to build, track and assign local training,
- Responsible to ensure training documentation is stored, linked, and utilized as a part of the training process
- Responsible to implement trainer development process and teams to ensure the best trainers are utilized during the training process
- Key partner to safety and quality leader ensuring that all required compliance trainings are tracked locally and refreshed as needed
- Improve local team performance through increasing skills and time to certification processes
- Key system owner ensuring we can see skill gaps and forecast future skill needs prior to losing our talent
- Cost eliminator driving training efficiencies across roles saving us unnecessary risk and reducing the time allotted for training

Technical Skills:
- 3-5 years’ experience managing a Training, or Learning System (preferred)
- Knowledge of Learning Management Systems
- Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Forms
- Industry knowledge

The salary range for this position is $99,000.00 – $165,000.00, depending on your role, level, and location. The benefits for this role may include short-term bonus incentive, health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and a number of programs that provide for both paid and unpaid time away from work. Your actual pay will be based on your work location and other factors, such as your skills, experience, and education.
