Postdoctoral Scholar University of California Los Angeles Requisition Number: JPF10340 Position Description Dr. Thomas A. Rando, M.D., Ph.D., Director of the UCLA Eli and Edythe Broad Stem Cell Research Center, is seeking to recruit a highly motivated postdoctoral scholar in his laboratory. The focus of Dr. Rando’s research is understanding the epigenetic and metabolic mechanisms regulating stem cell function, and the impact of aging on these mechanisms. An additional interest of the laboratory is to identify means to restore youthful function to aged stem cells and to enhance tissue regeneration in various aging and pathological conditions. Salary Range is $66737-$80034 Duties and Responsibilities Independently develop and execute research projects relevant to the lab’s focus Participate in collaborative projects with other laboratories Analyze and interpret data Prepare figures for grants, grant reports, manuscripts and presentations Draft manuscripts, help prepare grants and grant reports Present research at local, regional, and national meetings Mentor undergraduate student researchers Required Qualifications: PhD in relevant fields Strong record of completing projects and presenting research results through publications and scientific meetings Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Proficiency in general molecular biology and cell biology assays, immunochemistry, and cell culture Preferred Qualifications: Rodent handling experience Experience in flow cytometry and high-resolution imaging Experience in omics data analysis Document requirements Curriculum Vitae – Your most recently updated C.V.
