Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Launch Integration Engineer to join the US Space Force located in El Segundo, CA through 100% full onsite presence. The Launch Integration Engineer will lead end-to-end mission planning & execution – from interface development and technical documentation to Day-of-Launch coordination – for national security satellite launches. This is a senior level position requiring deep experience in space launch operations, satellite systems and a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

  

Responsibilities of the Launch Integration Engineer include:

  • Lead End-to-End Mission Integration: guide launch missions from early planning through Day-of-Launch, coordination across technical & operational teams
  • Coordinate Launch & Space Vehicle Interfaces: define & validate mechanical, electrical, and environmental interface requirements between satellites & launch vehicles
  • Manage Mission Working Groups: direct technical working groups in areas like mission analysis, ground & flight operations, & launch site readiness
  • Develop & Review Technical Documentation: prepare & evaluate mission documents such as Interface Requirements Documents (IRDs), Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and Statements of Work (SOWs)
  • Oversee Integrated Scheduled & Rehearsals: build & manage mission timelines, coordinate rehearsals, & ensure launch milestones are met on time
  • Provide Launch Site & Ground Support: interface with other government agencies, contractors, and mission partners to align requirements and resolve integration challenges
  • Supervise Technical Staff: lead & mentor a team of launch integration engineers, ensuring technical accuracy, efficiency, and mission assurance

 

Qualifications of the Launch Integration Engineer include:

  • 14+ years of experience & a bachelor’s degree + at least 9 years of experience in space launch operations
  • 12+ years of experience& a master’s degree + at least 9 years of experience in space launch operations
  • Expert-level knowledge of mission integration, including satellite-to-launch vehicle interfaces (mechanical, electrical, environmental, mission analysis)
  • Proven experience developing & reviewing key technical documents such as Interface Requirements Documents (IRDs), Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and launch base procedures
  • Strong background in satellite systems engineering, design, integration, and test (I&T)
  • Demonstrated success managing complex launch schedules, rehearsals, and multi-agency coordination
  • Leadership experience managing technical engineering teams through full launch campaign lifecycles
  • Effective communicator with a track record of building relationships across DOD, intelligence community & government partners
  • Must hold an active Top Secret clearance (T5 or SSBI), be SCI-eligible, and willing to undergo a polygraph

 

Compensation for the Launch Integration Engineer includes:

  • Salary Range: $160,000-200,000 **depending on experience**
