AY26 – Instructor Special Assignment, General Education Development Faculty Laison, SFP Adjunct LOS ANGELES COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT P ROFESSIONAL O PPORTUNITIES LOS ANGELES COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITIES Los Angeles Trade Tech College Los Angeles Trade-Technical College (LATTC) AY26 Instructor Special Assignment – GED Faculty Liaison Limited SFP .50 FTE DESCRIPTION: Los Angeles Trade-Technical College (LATTC) is accepting applications for a .50 FTE General Education Developlment Faculty Liaison (maximum of 17 hours per week) to support instructional improvement and student success in the General Educational Development (GED) preparation program. This Instructor Special Assignment (ISA) is housed within Academic Affairs and is funded by Student Equity and Achievement (SEA) and Adult Education Program (AEP) initiatives. The GED Faculty Liaison will work closely with noncredit and adult education faculty, support services, college leadership, and K-12/adult education partners to design, implement, and coordinate student-centered academic and support strategies. This includes aligning curriculum and instruction with student needs, increasing access to GED preparation resources, expanding partnerships, and improving student transitions to credit pathways and/or employment. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in adult education, equitable basic skills instruction, and a strong commitment to improving outcomes for historically underrepresented and nontraditional students. This is a specially funded, limited, temporary assignment and the funding is expected to last through June 30, 2026. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum qualifications to teach or any discipline offered at LATTC. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of community college and adult education students. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT COVID 19 VACCINATION Pursuant to LACCD Board of Trustee’s Policy 2900, employees must be fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption. LACCD employees are required to provide their vaccination status in compliance with the LACCD Board of Trustees’ policy. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS : Health: A medical certificate indicating fitness to instruct or associate with students is required at the applicant’s expense after selection from an eligible list and prior to employment DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Experience teaching or coordinating GED preparation or adult basic education programs. Knowledge of California Adult Education Program (AEP), WIOA Title II, and CASAS assessment systems. Experience designing student-centered and culturally responsive instruction for adult learners. Familiarity with guided pathways, noncredit-to-credit bridges, and career/college transitions. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external adult education partners. Experience collecting and using disaggregated data to inform instruction and student support. Demonstrated ability to create inclusive learning environments and support adult learners with diverse needs and life experiences. Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate GED program curriculum and instructional strategies to ensure alignment with student needs and CASAS/GED assessment frameworks. Collaborate with faculty, counselors, tutors, and community partners to implement student-centered interventions that support retention, persistence, and completion. Serve as faculty liaison with local Adult Education consortia, K-12 partners, and community-based organizations to strengthen referral pipelines and transitional services. Support students in accessing GED testing resources, workshops, and digital literacy tools. Lead professional development focused on equitable, culturally relevant GED instruction and supporting students with barriers to success. Analyze and disaggregate student data (e.g., attendance, persistence, CASAS/GED pass rates) to identify and close equity gaps. Develop and implement strategies that support student transitions into credit programs, career training, or employment. Assist with program improvement planning, outcome reporting, and compliance with AEP and SEA program goals. Participate in campus-wide efforts related to guided pathways, basic skills acceleration, and adult learner initiatives. Attend planning meetings with deans, department chairs, faculty, and student services to ensure integrated support for GED students. COMPENSATION The salary schedule for adjunct instructors begins at $86.85 per standard hour, plus an office hour differential of $20.32 per hour for classroom assignments. Applicants with a doctoral degree are eligible for a doctoral differential.
