Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Fuel Cell Development (FCD) Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Lab Operations Technician.
Reporting to the Supervisor, the person in this role will support the FCD department’s objective to support Lab Operations and Certification responsibilities.
What you’ll be doing
-
Supporting activities in the test facility including visiting team members, technical support for site improvements, and logistical support for visiting vendors.

Manage the repair and maintenance requirements for the test facilities, including the Hydrogen Station, and the Fuel Cell Bench.

Daily decision making for spend tracking, parts, and tools acquisition; and equipment maintenance.

Oversee facility projects to meet safety, quality, and timeline expectations.

Maintain and troubleshoot high voltage and high-pressure hydrogen systems.
-
Develop and support on-site training activities and schedules to maintain staff skill-building and adherence to training requirements.

Monitor & maintain adherence to established policies, procedures & standards.

Lead development & use of Job Instruction Sheets (JIS’), Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s), Risk Assessments (RA’s), etc.

Proactively improve the test facility and its functionality through careful planning, use, and tracking of yearly budget allotment.

Ability to learn new skills in a fast-paced environment as technology evolves.

Build consensus & trust with related stakeholders for positive outcome.

Occasional travel to support facilities in North America.
What you bring
-
Associate’s degree or 8+ Years of R&D experience; and/or commensurate industry experience.
-
Proven R&D experience.
-
Thorough understanding & working level experience with high voltage electrical systems.
-
Demonstrated experience and understanding of Toyota Way and Safety Policies.
-
Proven experience servicing high pressure systems.
-
Certified and professional experience using Swagelok components.
-
Intermediate ability to troubleshoot equipment and build related systems.
-
Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety systems.
-
This position requires driving. A motor vehicle record that’s acceptable by company standards is required for this position.

Working level understanding & application of Toyota policies and procedures related to working with high voltage systems, planning, and safety principles.

Working level understanding of Toyota problem solving methodology through Quality Circles.

Familiarity with improvement through problem solving, countermeasure finding, and implementation of kaizen solutions.

The annual base salary range for this position is $80,700.00 – $131,200.00.
