The Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking to hire a part-time Art Therapist to join the Operation Mend Department. Operation Mend is a nationally unique program providing specialized surgical and psychological care for veterans, service members, and their caregivers. You will deliver tailored treatment and services to adult neurology patients presenting with conditions such as traumatic brain injury and substance use disorders. Primary duties include:

  • Assist in psychodiagnostics appraisals and facilitation of intake and assessment protocols
  • Assist in facilitating individual and group intervention sessions
  • Customize art therapy programs
  • Organize, structure, and conduct group and individual art therapy sessions
  • Tracking and monitoring participation in the programs
  • Completing required documentation and electronic medical record 
  • Present relevant patient cases regarding target population
  • Conduct individual and group interventions
  • Assist in managing referrals and post treatment follow up

 

Please note: This is 6 month limited position that may convert to career

Salary range: $31.03/hr – $65.90/hr

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Marriage Family Therapy

Valid CA License is Marriage Family Therapy (LMFT)

Registered Art Therapist (ATR), preferred

Experience delivering trauma informed behavioral interventions to clients in individual and group settings

Prior experience in the area of military, veterans, family, trauma, and/or prevention (highly preferred)

Ability to administer assessment protocols

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Skill in developing rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds

Experience working successfully in a team environment

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
