Description
Established in 1998, the California Center for Population Research (CCPR) has since been a leading research center for research and training in demography. Supported by NICHD Population Center Infrastructure Grant and UCLA, CCPR is comprised of over 140 faculty researchers and over 130 graduate student affiliates across campus from 6 professional schools. CCPR is dedicated to train the next generations of demographers; to conduct rigorous independent research on demography, reproductive and population health.
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Fund Manager administers the department financial budgeting, planning and grants management in accordance with UCLA and funding agencies’ policies and procedures. In addition, the fund manager also supervise a sub-center CCPR’s finance. CCPR is solely funded by a broad range of contracts and grants with demanding financial reporting requirements. Proactively train and supervise a fund manager to manage a portfolio of over $20 million extramural research funding including federal, state, and private foundation. Develop budget, proposal preparation, submission and manage pre and post-awards for faculty investigators. Generate and review complex financial reports to ensure federal policies compliance. Serve as backup DSA for the department. Interpret policies and provide guidance to PIs and other staff members. Proactively manage and maintain fiscal control over extramural, restricted and unrestricted campus funds, and gifts funds. The Fund Manager will collaborate with various campus units to manage contracts and grants from inception to closeout, including subawards management. Will work closely with personnel staff to coordinate PI summer salary, course buyout, course release, Graduate Student Researcher and other research staff hiring.
