Position Summary This position will provide professional development and coaching support to K-12 schools and community colleges. Incumbent independently prioritizes and completes ongoing tasks following established departmental guidelines and University policies. Assignments are given by Director on a project basis. Periodic in-progress checks of work are made. In addition, work is reviewed, upon request, when actions represent a deviation from standard guidelines. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications 3-5 years of teaching experience; out of classroom/coaching experience desirable (Required) Ability to communicate effectively to small and large groups of people, from students to colleagues, teachers, parents, and administrators. (Required) Ability to design, implement, evaluate, and revise professional development programs. (Required) Ability to summarize current research and reform issues regarding specific K-12 and community college education, and related education issues AND to apply them to programs. (Required) Working knowledge of management and organizational structures that facilitate the operation of a complex network of administrators, parents, teachers, students, and staff. (Required) Comfortable working in many different teaching environments and with teachers from varied backgrounds and experiences, organizational skills and flexibility. (Required) Specialized training and/or experience in coaching, preferably having participated in institutes offered by K-12 and community college projects. (Required) Prior experience as a teacher, academic/research project or applicable experience. (Required) An understanding of the developmental stages of students and State Curriculum 4, standards in mathematics. (Required) A minimum of five years of successful teaching, preferably in an urban context. (Required) Skill in designing and writing of proposals, reports, and articles to secure funding. (Required) Knowledge, preferably a major or minor, in the specified content subject. (Required) Skill in working with many different teaching environments and with teachers from varied backgrounds and experiences.
