Position Summary Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager of the Bruin Health Pharmacy at the Arthur Ashe Student Health & Wellness Center and/or their designee (e.g. Staff Pharmacist) the Per Diem Pharmacy Technician I shall perform the functions of pharmacy technician and shall be responsible for assisting the pharmacist in the core functions and duties and perform other pharmacy functions as listed below. A Per Diem Pharmacy Technician I is not authorized to perform any act requiring the exercise of professional judgment by a Pharmacist. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications Working knowledge of state and federal regulations relating to the practice of pharmacy. (Required) Skill in effectively interacting with students and staff from diverse cultural, ethnic/racial, social and sexual orientations. (Required) Ability to receive constructive criticism and guidance with equanimity and engage in discussions with supervisor regarding performance in a professional manner. (Required) Ability to handle high volume of customer interactions and other work tasks. (Required) Proficient technical skills in computers and composing emails, messages and other documents that are clear, concise with use of proper syntax and grammar. (Required) Skill in interacting diplomatically to establish rapport and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, students, administrators and personnel in other departments. (Required) Skill in working independently to organize and prioritize job tasks with minimal direction to optimize efficiency. (Required) Knowledge of over-the-counter (OTC), pharmaceutical names, abbreviations, and medical and insurance terminologies. (Required) Ability in maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with University, state and federal guidelines including HIPAA and FERPA regulations, and handling sensitive medical issues tactfully. (Required) Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs. (Required) Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations CA Pharmacy Technician License (Required) Certified Technician by examination PTCB (Preferred) Special Conditions for Employment Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
