Position Summary UCLA seeks a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as the Senior Director of Procurement Operations & Payment Services, overseeing a broad portfolio that includes procurement transformation, card programs (P-Card, Travel Card, BruinCard, gift card), travel services, e-payables, and Bruin Bill. This role is central to modernizing UCLA’s procurement infrastructure while ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and an exceptional user experience for faculty, staff, and students. Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Procurement and Supply Chain, the Director will lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to drive innovation, efficiency, and strategic alignment across procurement and financial operations. The incumbent will function independently to establish priorities, work flow and administer routine tasks as assigned, and ensure that all employees remain current with their assigned tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures. Consults with Associate Vice Chancellor for Procurement and Supply Chain Services to review progress and revise objectives as appropriate. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications 8-10 years of progressive experience in procurement, financial operations, card program management, and/or travel services. (Required) And Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience managing professional staff. (Required) And 5-10 years of experience in higher education, public sector, or large-scale enterprise environments. (Preferred) Demonstrated success in leading large-scale operational transformations. (Required) Strong knowledge of procurement systems (e.g., Jaggaer, Oracle), travel platforms (e.g., Concur), and card program administration. (Required) Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills. (Required) Familiarity with UC policies, governance structures, and financial systems. (Preferred) Experience with Lean Six Sigma, project management methodologies, or change management frameworks. (Preferred) Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field and / or equivalent combination of education and experience / training (Required) And Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or equivalent. (Preferred) CPCP, CPA, CTM, CPM, or equivalent (Preferred) Special Conditions for Employment Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
