Description
As an Entry-Level Iron Worker you’ll learn how to assemble, install, and reinforce the steel frameworks that support commercial and industrial structures. You’ll train in welding, bolting, rigging, and safety techniques that prepare you for a rewarding career in steel construction.
Key Responsibilities
Installation and Maintenance:
· Assist in lifting, aligning, and securing steel beams and columns.
· Learn to use torches, grinders, and cutting tools safely.
· Help with layout and measurement for metal framework installation.
Safety and Compliance:
· Follow all OSHA, company, and industry safety standards.
· Use fall-protection systems and safety harnesses properly.
· Participate in daily toolbox meetings and JSA reviews.
Documentation and Reporting:
· Record materials used and work completed daily.
· Communicate progress and hazards to supervisors.
Work Environment and Expectations
Work involves heights up to 100 feet, loud environments, and heavy lifting. Teamwork and precision are critical for safety and quality.
Requirements
· Comfortable working at heights.
· Ability to lift 80 lbs and use power tools.
· Must pass background check and drug test.
· Valid driver’s license preferred.
