Begin your career in civil construction as a Pipe Layer Apprentice. You’ll learn to install and repair underground utility systems such as water, sewer, and storm drains, working alongside experienced operators and foremen.

Key Responsibilities

Installation and Maintenance:

· Assist in trenching, bedding, and installing pipes.

· Help align and seal joints according to specifications.

· Backfill and compact soil to ensure pipe stability.

Safety and Compliance:

· Follow trench safety and confined-space protocols.

· Operate hand and small power tools safely.

· Attend safety meetings and comply with company PPE standards.

Documentation and Reporting:

· Record daily progress and report equipment needs.

· Assist with site documentation and inspections.

Work Environment and Expectations

Work is outdoors in all weather conditions. Expect to handle heavy materials, work around heavy equipment, and perform physically demanding tasks daily.

Requirements

· Must be 18 or older and physically fit.

· Comfortable working outdoors and in trenches.

· Valid driver’s license required.
