Reporting to the Senior Superintendent and/or Facility
Manager, the Facilities Mechanic will perform routine and semi-skilled tasks in
the maintenance, alteration, and repair of buildings and related facilities
equipment under general supervision.  Incumbents may work independently,
as part of a maintenance crew, or under the general direction of a
journey-level crafts worker.  This position involves responsibilities for
routine and emergency maintenance across multiple hospital and offsite locations,
ensuring safety, functionality, and compliance. The candidate must be skilled
in critical thinking, detail-oriented, and dedicated to delivering high-quality
work in a dynamic, 24/7 environment.

  • Applies
    knowledge in the trouble shooting, repair, maintenance and testing of
    the Plumbing systems installed in all Healthcare buildings.
  • Applies
    knowledge in the trouble shooting, repair, maintenance and
    testing of Hardware issues such as Doors, Locks, Hinges, etc. installed in
    all Healthcare buildings.
  • Applies
    knowledge in the trouble shooting, repair, maintenance and testing of
    the Electrical systems installed in all Healthcare buildings.
  • Applies
    knowledge in the trouble shooting, repair, maintenance and testing of
    the Nurse Call systems installed in all Healthcare buildings.
  • Performs and completes
    daily, weekly and monthly preventive maintenance in accordance with
    governing agencies and departmental policy and procedures.

Salary Rate: $37.47

Qualifications

    • Ability to use hand tools, gauges, measuring tools, plumbing tools, plumbing snakes and electrical measuring tolls on a daily basis. 
    • Skill in communicating and obtaining clear and concise information.
    • Skill in reading and writing standard English in order to understand written directions and convey concise and grammatically correct information.
    • Basic knowledge and work experience with materials, equipment and tools as it pertains to plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems and/or carpentry work.
    • Knowledge and experience with MS Office, MS Word and MS Outlook.
    • Willingness to work overtime as required and under adverse situations.
    • Knowledge of Joint Commission standards.
    • Knowledge of applicable State and local codes and standards.
