Base salary: $150,000/yr.

Overview:
A Leader in the Construction Distribution Industry is seeking a dynamic Director of Purchasing to oversee the Purchasing function while focusing on process improvement and synergy alignment as it relates to purchasing processes, procedures, and practices. This key role leads analysis and strategy development, supporting cost savings and operational efficiencies across business units. This role collaborates closely with senior leadership to execute manufacturer, supplier, and distribution channel alignment strategy. This position can be located in Orlando, FL or Indianapolis, IN.
Responsibilities:

• Lead analysis and strategy development, in support of cost savings and operational efficiencies.
• Develop and maintain strong manufacturer and supplier relationships in support of organizational procurement strategies.
• Analyze current purchasing layout with goal of streamlining the purchasing process in alignment with organizational sales strategy.
• Identify potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships.
• Hire, train, and lead Purchasing team; equip team members with needed skills and support to succeed in their roles and daily duties.
• Set team objectives and monitor team performance, providing feedback and coaching.
• Determine, track, and adhere to budgets.
• Track and report team progress and purchasing metrics/KPIs to senior management.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of purchasing experience in the construction distribution industry required.
• Deep knowledge of importing fasteners is strongly desired.
• MS Office Suite and Epicor Prophet (P21) experience required.
• Available and willing to travel domestically as needed.
