Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences: Professor and Lori Altshuler Endowed Chair for Mood Disorders University of California Los Angeles Requisition Number: JPF10740 The Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, in collaboration with the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position at the Associate or Full Professor level. The successful applicant will be appointed to the Lori Altshuler Endowed Chair for Mood Disorders. We seek a mid-career researcher and clinician with an outstanding, internationally recognized research program focused on mood disorders. Candidates must demonstrate a strong record of extramural funding, scholarly productivity, and a highly collaborative approach to advancing translational research. While the position is open to all areas in which mood disorders are central, particular interest will be given to candidates whose work addresses major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, and related mood disorders. The successful candidate must be qualified to perform clinical service in mood disorders, possess or be eligible for a California medical license, and be board-certified in psychiatry. Clinical responsibilities include the evaluation and treatment of individuals with mood disorders and participation in multidisciplinary clinical teams. Teaching and mentorship duties include supervision of psychiatry residents, postdoctoral fellows, medical students, and graduate students, as well as mentoring early-career clinicians and scientists.. The Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at UCLA is a nationally recognized leader in neuropsychiatric research and education, offering an outstanding environment for collaboration and innovation in the study and treatment of complex behavioral health conditions. Faculty appointment level and salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications, in accordance with the Health Sciences Compensation Plan.
