Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager professional with a strong background in union environments and collective bargaining. This role will lead HR initiatives, oversee labor relations, and support our unionized workforce in a high-volume transportation setting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead labor relations efforts, including grievance handling, contract interpretation, and union negotiations.
* Manage employee benefits programs and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
* Serve as the primary HR contact for union representatives and port-based employees.
* Support collective bargaining processes and maintain productive relationships with labor unions.
* Develop and implement HR policies aligned with company goals and legal requirements.
* Partner with operations leadership to address workforce challenges and drive employee engagement.
* Provide guidance on disciplinary actions, performance management, and conflict resolution.
Qualifications:
* Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a unionized environment
* Proven experience in labor relations, benefits administration, and contract negotiations.
* Strong knowledge of employment laws, labor regulations, and HR best practices.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
* Experience working with port-based employees or in transportation/logistics preferred.
* Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s or HR certification a plus).
