.Payroll Specialist – Paylocity Transition Support
Location: Near Downey, CA
Employment Type: Full-time (Contract or Temp-to-Hire options available)
About the Opportunity
A company near the Downey area is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support their upcoming transition to the Paylocity payroll system. This role is ideal for someone who has successfully gone through at least one Paylocity implementation and enjoys teaching, guiding, and supporting teams through new processes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support the company’s transition to Paylocity, ensuring accurate setup and migration
Collaborate with HR, payroll, and leadership to document work flows and optimize system usage
Provide hands-on training and guidance to staff learning Paylocity for the first time
Assist with data cleanup, audits, testing, and parallel runs during implementation
Troubleshoot system issues and escalate to Paylocity support as needed
Maintain calm, patient, and supportive communication throughout roll-out
Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time during and after the transition
Qualifications
Strong, recent experience with Paylocity, including system implementation or transition
Background in payroll processing, payroll compliance, and HRIS usage
Ability to train and support employees at all comfort levels with new technology
Calm, patient, and solutions-focused communication style
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Experience in a mid-size or small business environment is a plus

Compensation
