Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Program Security Specialist to support a critical DoD program for Space Systems Command in El Segundo, CA. The team is seeking a skilled security specialist to develop and implement comprehensive security strategies for the Combat Power, Surveillance and Reconnaissance division. 

Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI

Location: El Segundo, CA (100% on-site)

 Responsibilities of the Security Specialist:   

·      Develop, maintain, and execute Program Protection Plans (PPPs) and Security Classification Guides (SCGs) in alignment with applicable DoD and federal security regulations.

·      Provide expert advice and support across all security disciplines, including physical security (PHYSEC), information security (INFOSEC), personnel security (PERSEC), and operations security (OPSEC).

·      Perform comprehensive risk and vulnerability assessments to identify potential program gaps and recommend effective mitigation measures.

·      Deliver subject matter expertise on diverse security principles, practices, and concepts to both internal stakeholders and external partners.

·      Collaborate with counterintelligence and engineering teams to evaluate supply chain risks and incorporate findings into protection strategies.

·      Design and present security briefings, training sessions, and awareness programs for all program personnel.

·      Review and validate contract security specifications (e.g., DD 254s) to ensure proper security requirements are defined and implemented for support contracts.

·      Assist in identifying export-controlled items and technologies subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and ensure proper handling and dissemination protocols are established.

Qualifications of the Security Specialist:  

  • Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance
  • Bachelors Degree and 10+ years of experience in a relevant field of study
  • Strong working knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and various DoD manuals and instructions (e.g., DoDM 5200.01 series).
  • Familiarity with security clearance processing systems (DISS/JPAS/NBIS) and classification management policies.
  • Strong analytical judgment and problem-solving skills to evaluate complex information and make sound decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft formal plans and reports and deliver briefings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant security and data management tools.

Compensation of the Security Specialist:   

  • Total compensation based on experience level – $140,000-$160,000+ **based on experience level**
