Position Summary Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, the Lead Pharmacist provides patient care, performs clinical and administrative tasks, oversees dispensing prescriptions, and provides patient consultations within the scope of a California licensed pharmacist to manage medication therapy and ensure optimal patient health and wellbeing. The Lead Pharmacist also aids the Pharmacy Manager in leading pharmacy operations and workflow, while also complying with state and federal laws, rules, regulations, and organizational policies and procedures. This position also collaborates with various health care providers to ensure appropriate pharmacological guidance while resolving prescription ambiguities and issues. This role also serves as a lead figure for all staff pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, providing guidance and support to the Bruin Pharmacy team. The Lead Pharmacist also maintains security of pharmacy, appropriate storage, handling, ordering, and preparation of drugs within a safe and clean work environment. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications 3-5 Years previous experience as a Pharmacist (Required) Possession of the legal requirements to practice pharmacy as determined by the California State Board of Pharmacy. (Required) In depth knowledge of state and federal regulations relating to the practice of pharmacy. (Required) Demonstrated ability to problem solve and resolve conflicts among co-workers and professional staff. (Required) Ability to oversee and assess that pharmacy workflow is following established policies and procedures. (Required) Demonstrated ability to organize and schedule staff to accommodate operational needs on a daily basis for optimal patient care. (Required) Ability to delegate and adjust work assignments throughout the day to ensure effective and timely workflow. (Required) Strong ability to independently resolve pharmacy and prescription issues in a timely manner and escalate to pharmacy manager and/or leadership as needed. (Required) Demonstrated ability to serve as a resource to the pharmacy staff, recommend additional resources, and provide input to the pharmacy manager and/or leadership on opportunities for improvement. (Required) Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations Graduation from an accredited school of Pharmacy (Required) California State Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist license (Required) Current BLS certification (Required) Current Blood Borne Pathogen Training certificate (Required) Possession of a Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certificate. (Required) Special Conditions for Employment Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
