Regulatory Affairs and Environmental Sustainability Internship Summer 2026

You will be working for the Regulatory Affairs and Environmentally Sustainability (RAES) function of Toyota Motor North America (TMNA). 
  

The RAES function is responsible for: 
1. Influencing and tracking all regulatory trends that impact Toyota’s products – safety, environment,  
chemicals, any regulations on vehicles. 
2. Ensuring compliance and certification to these regulatory requirements in our products. 
3. Managing all the sustainability efforts of Toyota in the US which include the  
Environmental Challenge 2050, the renewable energy generation portfolio, and site  
environmental efforts. 
  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

In the Compliance Strategy & Engineering department, possible activities would include: 

  • Enhance CSE’s processes for tracking applications, reports, and other documents submitted to government agencies. 

  • Conduct thorough investigation of emissions application content, review and verify information sources to enable CSE to assume full ownership of NASR application preparation. 

  • Collaborate closely with counterparts in TMC and TMNA R&D to support application content development, submission processes, and approval discussions. 

  • Lead the conceptualization and co-creation of IT solutions aimed at automating workflows, enhancing operational efficiency, and improving the quality of compliance data 

 

Location: This position will be in Gardena, CA  

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Must be 18 years of age or older 

  • Must have reliable transportation 

  • Must have the right to work in the United States and not require Toyota sponsorship for immigration-related employment (including, but not limited to H-1B, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, TN, or F-1 OPT extension) now or in the future 

  • Minimum GPA of 2.7 or higher 

  • Must have completed at least one full academic year at a two- or four-year college or university post-high school (sophomore standing or above) 

  • Pursing a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering, or some equivalent technical area

The annual base salary range for this position is $52,700.00 – $85,700.00.
