Who We Are:

We are a newly independent wealth management firm, with approximately $500 million in revenue, recently carved out from a larger parent company and acquired by a leading private equity sponsor. With a strong foundation of client relationships, acquisitions, and growth potential, we are in the process of standing up new systems, processes, and controls to support our next phase of expansion. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the tax infrastructure of a high-growth platform from the ground up.

Summary:

Wealthspire is seeking a highly skilled Azure Infrastructure Architect to design, build, and evolve the firm’s Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring a secure, resilient, and scalable cloud foundation that supports enterprise applications, data platforms, end-user services, and ongoing growth initiatives—including carve-outs and future M&A activity.

The Azure Infrastructure Architect will serve as a hands-on technical leader, partnering closely with Infrastructure & IT Operations, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, and Application teams to deliver modern, automated, and highly available cloud infrastructure aligned with Wealthspire’s Microsoft-first strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Azure Architecture & Engineering

  • Design, implement, and maintain Azure infrastructure architecture including subscriptions, networking, compute, storage, and identity integrations supporting enterprise workloads.
  • Implement and manage Azure Virtual Networks, VPN/ExpressRoute, firewalls, load balancers, and hybrid connectivity.
  • Design secure, scalable Azure landing zones aligned to governance, compliance, and operational standards.
  • Architect resilient Azure compute platforms (VMs, scale sets, PaaS services where applicable).
  • Define and enforce Azure governance using policies, blueprints, tagging, and RBAC.

Reliability, Operations & Automation

  • Ensure high availability, scalability, availability, performance, backup, and disaster recovery across Azure workloads.
  •  Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response using Azure-native and third-party tools.
  • Drive automation using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), Terraform, ARM/Bicep, PowerShell, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Partner with IT Operations to mature change, configuration, and lifecycle management.
  • Serve as a senior technical escalation point for complex Azure infrastructure issues.
  • Participate in day-to-day technology operations.

Carve-Out & M&A Support

  • Lead and execute Azure infrastructure separation and integration activities for carve-outs, tenant separations, acquisitions, and divestitures.
  • Develop repeatable Azure playbooks for subscription design, identity integration, and workload migration.
  • Ensure minimal disruption, strong security posture, and audit readiness during transitional events.

Security, Compliance & Governance

  • Collaborate with Cybersecurity and Compliance teams on identity, network security, encryption, logging, and threat protection.
  • Support regulatory and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, SEC, NYDFS).
  • Enforce secure-by-design infrastructure standards and continuous compliance.

Vendor & Platform Enablement

  • Participate in vendor relationships and work with Microsoft, CSPs, MSPs, and technology vendors to optimize Azure usage and cost.
  • Evaluate new Azure services and roadmap features for business applicability.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across infrastructure and operations.

Qualifications:

  • 8–12+ years of experience in IT infrastructure with deep focus on Microsoft Azure.
  • Proven experience architecting and operating enterprise-scale Azure environments.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Azure networking, compute, storage, and identity integration.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation frameworks.
  • Exposure to carve-outs, integrations, or M&A activity strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of security, identity, and compliance in regulated environments.
  • Ability to balance strategic architecture with hands-on technical execution.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are a plus.

What Makes This Role Unique

  • Opportunity to architect and evolve a modern, cloud-first Azure environment.
  • Direct impact on enterprise infrastructure, security, and integration strategy.
  • High-visibility role with close alignment to Infrastructure, Security, and Business leaders.
  • Collaborative culture with a strong focus on operational excellence and resilience.
  • Hybrid work environment with flexibility and long-term growth opportunities.
