As an Access Control Officer at a commercial real estate location, you will help manage lobby entry and visitor flow, support badge creation and verification, and monitor access points using computer and/or tablet systems. You will remain a visible presence, conduct routine patrols as needed, document security-related activity, and deliver customer-focused service and clear communication. What You’ll Do:
- Provide customer service to tenants, employees, visitors, and/or contractors by following site-specific access control and security-related procedures.
- Control access at entrances, lobbies, and/or loading areas by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, managing key and/or badge access, and directing guests to the proper location.
- Monitor alarms, cameras, and building systems as assigned and report irregular activity, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns according to site policy to help to deter unauthorized entry.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting on-site management and/or emergency services when appropriate and completing required reports.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including perimeter and common areas, documenting observations and assisting with compliance to posted property rules.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least 6+ months of security-related experience.
- A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
