Position Overview:

Calibration Technician I is an entry-level role ideal for veterans with hands-on technical experience gained through military service. This includes calibration, testing, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, or repair of equipment and instrumentation.

Veterans from the Navy, Army, Marine Corps, and Air Force often gain directly transferable experience through programs such as PMEL, TMDE, avionics, electronics maintenance, metrology, or quality assurance, which aligns well with this role.

Technicians at this level typically perform calibration on low- to mid-level instrumentation across up to three (3) measurement disciplines, such as:

Electrical

Dimensional

Pressure

Temperature

Torque

Skill progression is supported through The Client’s structured technician development matrix.

Key Responsibilities:

Work alongside experienced technicians in a laboratory environment to learn and apply calibration fundamentals (electrical, temperature, measurement, electronics, etc.)

Perform calibration, inspection, and verification of equipment using approved procedures and standards

Identify and apply proper measurement techniques, similar to military technical orders and maintenance manuals

Maintain calibration standards and documentation in accordance with quality and compliance requirements

Develop working knowledge in at least three (3) calibration disciplines

Perform calibration work in a lab setting and/or under supervision at customer sites

Follow safety procedures and quality standards-comparable to military safety, QA, and compliance practices

Travel to customer locations as required (25-50%)

Primary Objectives:

Build a strong foundation in commercial calibration practices

Transition military technical skills into civilian calibration competencies

Develop the ability to perform calibrations independently

Progress toward Calibration Technician II, which includes:

Competency in at least four (4) disciplines

Expert-level proficiency in one (1) discipline

Support and uphold The Client’s Quality Policy

Qualifications:

Successful completion of assigned training (on-the-job, online, LMS, and classroom)

Strong attention to detail-critical for compliance, safety, and accuracy

Ability to follow procedures, accept feedback, and continuously improve

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Self-motivated learner with a mission-focused mindset

Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Valid driver’s license with 3+ years of driving experience Job 58871
