Main responsibilities:
As a Maintenance Engineer/Technician at our bread facility, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and machinery. Your role will involve performing preventive maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and repairing equipment to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. You’ll also be responsible for conducting regular inspections, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to enhance equipment reliability and performance. Additionally, you’ll collaborate with production teams to coordinate maintenance schedules and prioritize tasks to support uninterrupted bread production. Your expertise and dedication will be crucial in maintaining the high standards of quality and efficiency that our facility is known for.
- Repair / maintain machinery and bakery equipment like mixers, dividers, proof boxes, baking ovens, baggers, wrappers, coders, tray washers, conveyors, etc. to prevent downtime.
- Perform all scheduled preventive maintenance (PMs) on bakery equipment as per the maintenance compliance program.
- Inspect plant equipment as assigned to monitor health and functionality.
- Assist in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
- Requisitions to maintain the supply of spare parts as needed.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders of assigned duties.
- Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- Work closely with operators and site teams to increase uptime, which helps keep food moving to our stores and communities.
We are looking for candidates who possess the following:
We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:
- A high school diploma or GED; A combination of experience and/or education/certification in the use of mechanical tools, industrial electrical, PLC, VFD, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Basic understanding and /or experience of electrical blueprints, PLC, VFD, refrigeration- glycol system, boilers, fabrication, welding, gearbox, pumps, sprockets, chains, pullies, and conveyors.
- Ability and willingness to learn and troubleshoot issues.
- Available to work across all shifts including weekends.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs, sit, stand, walk for long periods, grasp with hands and arms, bend, climb, balance, squat, kneel, crawl, talk, hear see, use fingers, work on heights and complete repetitive motions as needed. Maintenance tasks may require the use of ladders or stairs. Qualified personnel must be able to work safely and maintain a safe work environment for everyone around.

Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range.
