Description

The Bone Marrow Transplant & Stem Cell Lab is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. In this key position, your primary duties include but are not limited to: 

  • Process/cryopreserve bone marrow and peripheral blood stem cells for infusion
  • Prepare samples for sterility, viability, and cell count testing
  • Operate blood separation instruments and hematology analyzer
  • Perform quality control tasks and computations
  • Document equipment maintenance and quality control
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on lab equipment
  • Prepare written reports and technical summaries
  • Record/review data for accuracy, completeness, and suitability
  • Handle clinical trial administrative responsibilities

Salary Range:$56.54-75.34/hourly

Qualifications
Required:

  • Current and valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License
  • Must be able to work after-hours, weekends, and holidays when required (rotating on-call)
  • Experience in transfusion medicine, blood separation processes, and quality control/quality assurance.
  • Knowledge and experience with microbiology procedures
  • Ability to use MS Office programs, including Word and Excel
  • Skill in practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to be used in making reagents and in performing calculations
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with outside services
  • Ability to work under conditions of frequent interruptions, distractions, and heavy workload while maintaining equanimity, accuracy and productivity

Preferred:

  • At least two years of recent experience performing testing in a clinical laboratory
  • Knowledge of hematologic malignancies, stem cell transplants, and cellular therapies
  • Recent demonstrated technical competence in cellular therapy product processing
  • Experience with clinical trial processing and protocols
