Description

Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Practice Manager for Torrance Urology oversees the business and patient care support functions for the clinic. Responsible for FTE, call center and patient access, administrative and financial analysis working within a prescribed budget, care coordination of clinical services and communication, space management, safety reporting, policy development and deployment.

Develops project plans to ensure unit goals and effective operations of these clinical practices are met. Responsibility also includes following and adhering to personnel policy and procedure, hiring, recruiting qualified personnel. Works with Clinic Medical Director, operation clinic leads/supervisors, Department Chair, Director of Operations and Executive CAO to assure an overall effective operation. Manages the administrative supervisor, who manages the day-to-day operations of the team responsible for authorizations and customer service.

Salary Range: $70,900 – $145,200 annually

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least five years demonstrated skill in analyzing information, problems, situations and procedures to define objectives, identify pattern and formulate conclusions
  • At least
    5 years demonstrated experience in managing
    patient services
  • Demonstrated skill in planning,
    managing and analyzing
    complete revenue and expenses
    budgets as assigned.
  • Ability to creatively integrate competing demands of an outpatient setting into a productive working environment
  • Ability
    to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with a patient population in varying
    degrees of health
    and effective communication with staff, faculty
    and the general public in conveying information
    to varying organizational levels
  • Working knowledge
    of University policies
    and procedures to appropriately manage accounting systems, cashiering,
    risk management and personnel.
  • Demonstrated skill and experience in developing Quality
    Improvement plans to include
    using the Lean Process (A3)
  • Interpersonal
    skills and ability to communicate effectively
    and diplomatically with patients, staff and physicians; give and receive
    information, clarify policies,
    and mediate if necessary with
    patients, physicians, and technologists
  • Ability to accept and carry out oral instructions accurately and work independently as well as a part of a team within a
    demanding environment
  • Ability to prioritize work, handle multiple
    tasks to completion and make decisions on which course to follow for a particular situation
  • Ability to work independently and follow through
    on assignments with minimal direction and supervision
